Flyers Nab First Win of Season

The Fort St. John senior men’s Flyers have erased the zero from their win column. On Saturday, Dec.10, the Fort St. John Flyers welcomed long -time rivals, the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks, to the North Peace Arena, earning their first victory of their season by a score of 5-3.

Despite trailing 3-1 after the first period, pairs of goals in the second and third frames secured the Flyers the win.

Flyers forward Matt Shuya had himself a two-goal night and forward Todd Alexander scored the game winning, short-handed goal in the third period.

The Flyers will now have a bit of break from the game of hockey, as they next take to the ice Friday, Jan.13.
