Senior Flyers Win Tune-Up in Grande Prairie

The Senior Flyers posted an 11-3 win in Grande Prairie on Tuesday night.
The Flyers got contributions from several affiliated Dawson Creek Senior Canucks, including two goals and two assists from Adam Loncan, and two goals from Kip Noble. As well, Blaine Bablitz made his debut in a Flyers jersey, and chipped in two goals and two assists. Bablitz is a former University of Alaska-Fairbanks forward, who also played four years of pro hockey, in the ECHL, the CHL, and in Europe. David Alexander, Adam Horst, Jeff Shipton, Nathan Waberski, and Matt Shuya also scored for Fort St. John.
Scott Taje and DJ McDonald (2) scored for the Athletics, who dressed five affialiate players, including Nathan Johnson, Kyle Weegar, Chad Sutherland (all from the GP Wheelers), Cody Moulds (Beaverlodge Blades), and Nolan Trudeau (Sexsmith Vipers).
Troy Hunt played the first two periods in goal for the Flyers, while Dawson Creek goaltender Davin Bull played in the third period, allowing one of the three goals against. Between them the two goalies stopped 14 of 17 shots.
The Athletics will be representing the NPHL at the Alberta 'A' & 'AA' provincial championships, in Brooks, starting on April 2nd.
The Flyers have confirmed that they will play three games in Prince George, on April 9, 10, & 11. The exhibition matchups against the Senior Mohawks will be the final tune-ups before the Allan Cup kicks off on April 19.
